Teachers and students from Portugal ( Madeira), Germany, Italy ( Sicily), Greece ( Crete) and Spain ( Mallorca)and Croatia got together on the 23rd of May 2022 in Split to start their journey towards Šibenik. Our goal was the Barone fortress , which enchanted us by presenting the historyof Šibenik bymeansofaugmentedreality. The views of the town and nearby islands were stunning as well. After the relaxing history class and sipping coffee in the shade, we descended to the city centre to visit one of the masterpieces of Croatian cultural heritage, the cathedral of Šibenik. After the cultural visit we had time for individual sightseeing and got together for a common lunch afterwards. In the late afteroon we headed back to Split, where we had to catch our boat to Bol.
On Tuesday ( 24th of May) we started working at school. We welcomed our partners by songs sung by our students Ivan Jerčić and Toma Ursić and our students' harmony group called Veras who presented the tradition of a cappella singing. After a short welcome speech, our dear colleague Ana Martinić had a workshop on creating a well-structured interview. We also watched a short video on responsible and sustainable tourism, explained and revised the most important elements of the video being involved in a group discussion. After a short coffee break, students started working in international groups coming up with questions aimed at people working in the fields of tourism and cultural heritage concerning Brač ( Ms Jadranka Nejašmić, director of the public library in Bol, Mr Ivan Cvitanić, director of Tourist Board in Supetar, Mr Zoran Kojdić, awarded tourist guide from Bol and Mr Vinko Martinić, accommodation director of Bluesun hotels).
Wednesday ( 25th of May) was dedicated to lectures by Ms Jadranka Nejašmić about the cultural heritage of Brač and Bol and Mr Ivan Cvitanić about achievements and challenges concerning tourism on the island of Brač. We spent a part of the afternnoon learning how Hotel Elaphusa functions thanks to professional support by Mr Vinko Martinić.
On Thursday ( 26th of May) we started our morning by a ride on a small, tourist train which transported us to Murvica ( a village 5 km from Bol), which was our starting point towards Dragon's Cave. Dragon's Cave is important for understanding the cultural heritage of the island of Brač and thanks to Mr Zoran Kojdić and his expertise in this field, the history of the island of Brač won't be forgotten.
On Friday ( 27th of May) students spent the morning preparing for their presentations, which were scheduled for 2 pm. After the official part, we enjoyed Erasmus + cake and music thanks to our students Lucija Ivičić and Marin Karmelić.
On Saturday ( 28th of May) we got together with our partners from Germany and Spain at school ( other partners had to leave on Friday) to evaluate the project week and interview random tourists about their satisfaction with tourist services in Bol and their point of view concerning responsible and sustainable tourism.
We are looking forward to next project meetings
