project meeting IN italy 06/11-12/11/2022
For six days, from November 5/6th to 12/13th , students and teachers from IIS G. Verga have hosted
students and teachers from the 5 other countries participating in the project:
Bol, Croatia – Mallorca, Spain – Crete, Greece – Madeira, Portugal - Wesermarsch, Germany.
Day 1 - Portugal, Germany, Greece, Spain and Croatia Delegations arrive at Catania Airport: welcome and accomodation oraganization with host families for students and at a local B&B in the city center for teachers.
Day 2 - Getting to know the language of “La Bella Vita” and Welcoming Ceremony in Aula Magna: Traditional Sicilian Music and Dances – Presenting our town: Video of Modica
Coffee break and Tour of the school; Student’s Presentations: Food and Sustainability in Aula Magna. Then in the afternoon foreign students have some free time around Modica with their host partners.
Day 3 - Workshop: Zero Km Initiatives/ Growing Organic Food in Aula Magna;
Visit to a Sustainable Farm in the countryside and lunch with typical local sicilian food and dishes.
Day 4 – Trip to Siracusa and Tour of the old town of Ortigia and Maniace Castle
Visit to the Papyrus museum: Lab: The making of Papyrus Paper.
Visit to an Archaeological site
Day 5 - Workshop: Sustainability around us at school
Visit to Castello di Donnafugata and to a sustainable B&B
Day 6 – International groups prepare their presentations, international teams prepare their final presentations regarding the activities carried out during the week and reflections on how to promote sustainable food in the tourism sector through videos and power point presentations.
Discussion about the weeks activities and personal conclusions on how to promote sutainabile food in tourism.
Farewell ceremony in Aula Magna and presentation of Mobility Certificates.
Day 7 - Delegations Depart looking forward to our next mobility in which we
have the possibility to share our knowledge, experience and initiatives for the Good of the World!
